I upgraded my iTunes (on my PC) to version 8.1.
Suddenly, connecting the iphone freezes iTunes. In fact, if I open a window over it, it won't reappear, although it shows in the task bar. The computer reads the phone --I see it as a camera like usual. I've tried restarting, etc, with no luck.
Try removing (Deauthorizing) your iTunes account and adding it back on. This has seemed to help others with this issue.
